The Commission on Public
Secondary Schools, at
its December 5, 2011 meeting,
reviewed the decennial
evaluation report from
the recent visit to Saugus
High School and voted
unanimously to award the
school continued accreditation
in the New England Association
of Schools and Colleges.

The SHS Guidance
Department will host a MEFA
(Massachusetts Educational Financing
Authority) CollegeAdmissions
Presentation on Wednesday, March
7th 2012 in the SHS Auditorium
at 6PM (immediately following
parent-teacher conferences).
This is a free seminar for juniors
and their parents covering:
Current
college admissions trends
Stages of the college admissions
process
College entrance tests
Preparing for the essay, interview
& campus visit
Financial aid basics
MEFA's free resources for families

Hockey Fundraiser
The SHS Hockey will be
having a fundraiser at
Buffalo Wild Wings on
Monday February 6th. Twenty
percent of all proceeds
will go to the Boys Ice
Hockey Team. The Link

| The 'Spring
Season Registration/Information
Night' will be March 1st
at 6:00 at Saugus High
School. The mandatory
portion of the night will
begin at 6:00 for all
spring athletes/parents;
but at 5:30 I will show
the NFHS 'Concussion Course'
for those parents and/or
athletes whom still need
to comply with the new
State Concussion law.
If a student did not play
a sport yet this year,
they along with their
parent, will have to take
a free on-line course
or attend this seminar
before they can play a
sport.
All paperwork (permission
slip, athletic emergency
form, physical, concussion
waiver form, and user
fee) should be submitted
at this time as well.
Packets can be picked
up at SHS/BMS or can
be printed off the Athlectic
Diretor's school website.
